This week in science we learned about astronomy. It was really really cool. We went through all the solar system and at the end we saw all the different galaxies. We learn that the planets are EXTREMELY SMALL compared to the sun and the distance between planets is ginormous. We also learn that there are many dwarf planet like Pluto. Also, all planets make elliptical rotations, not perfect circles. We even learned the the Moon pulls the ocean up causing high tide.
Then in class we went over Newtons third law: Ever action has an equal and opposite reaction. We did many expiriment that support his law. First we had Brett and I throw a bowling ball to eachother while sitting on carts. Everytime I threw it and he caught it we both went back an equal distance. Then to top it of Mr. Finley ask us if one person could apply 10 newtons of force backward and the other 5 while both holding two spring scales. As hard as they tried every time they could not get it. On Friday we had our test. I know I knew the material but I think I was too confused on the wording of the questions and answers. I am not sure how I did, but I think I did not as well as I would have had hoped.

Week of April 9th
This week in science we continued our dynamics unit. We expiriment a lot. Mrs. B ran our classes since Mr. Finley was on a field trip with the 7th graders. We supporteed the hypothesis that the delta V arrows always go in the dircetion of the unbalanced forces in a motion diagram. We did this expiriment with a ball and person. We used Matt (as usual). For some reason he puts on a wierd face when he's up in front of the calss. It's funny. On Thursday we answered a text message quiz, it was fun.

Week of April 5th
Good news, bad news. Good new is science was fun this week. Bad news is a had a concussion on Friday at our lacrosse game. Back to science, this week I learned so much! On Monday I was out sick. On Tuesday we started our new unit, dynamics. We learned a lot about force. First we learned there are always forces pushing on an object. One that always pushes down is the earth. Another thing we learned was force diagrams. In the diagram you always draw the finshed product. When one arroy is greater than the other that means its using more force. We worked and practiced with this for a while. Then we learn the objects like a table apply a force. We conducted a few expiriments to prove this when doing our work sheet. Then on Friday we started learn about unbalanced force diagrams when there is only one force, then the bell rang.
